My Story

I am the mother of two young adults, one son and one daughter. Like so many, motherhood has been the source of my greatest joys and has challenged me to my deepest core throughout all stages of my kids’ growth and development.

Being a mother has taken me on my own personal healing journey that has led to my professional career in mental health, ecotherapy, and wellness.

My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and Exercise Health Science. After becoming a mother, I decided to go back to Western Michigan University to get a Master’s in Social Work to support others through the challenges that life brings. I started out as a school social worker where I was fortunate to work with not only the staff but many children and their families.

I learned so much about how stress, anxiety and other challenges affect mental health.  Over the past 15 years, I have worked in private practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Michigan.

My passion for learning didn’t stop there. I had the opportunity to learn about Animal Assisted Therapy and become certified in the EAGALA model of equine-assisted therapy. In addition to practicing equine therapy, I became a registered play therapist with the Association for Play Therapy . Both of these models focus on empowering clients to analyze situations, make connections, and find their own solutions to enhance freedom, awareness, and self-direction.

In 2022, I completed my life coaching training  from Lumia. I chose Lumia because it wasn’t your cookie-cutter life coaching program which is a dime a dozen nowadays. Lumia teaches evidence based techniques and offers a life-changing experience that truly transforms you. It transformed me and now, I’m ready to share everything I’ve learned with you!

When working with clients, I often use the power of nature to help heal, believing a connection with nature is a critical component in physical and mental health. If we meet in person, our sessions may take place in the woods or outside to benefit from the therapeutic benefits of nature. If we meet virtually, I will encourage you to bring the outside in or to find a space outside for us to meet if that is something that is of interest to you.

My goal is to educate and empower you with the tools to work through your challenges and to provide support to you every step of the way. I can help you facilitate lifestyle changes, identify underlying causes of symptoms, and learn strategies for change and growth. I am here to walk this journey with you – every step of the way.

As a coach/mother/human, I value:

Empathy and understanding

Unconditional acceptance
